Delete Account & Data

PMOSly is a local-first PMOS (formerly PCOS) tracker. Your cycle, symptom, lab, medication and fertility logs live on your device. An account is optional and only needed for encrypted cloud backup and multi-device sync. This page explains how to permanently delete your PMOSly account and all associated data.

1. Delete your account in the app (primary method)

This is the recommended path. Deletion is authenticated in the app to protect your privacy.

  1. Open PMOSly on your device.
  2. Go to More → Privacy & backup (or Settings).
  3. Tap "Delete account".
  4. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

Account deletion is immediate and permanent. There is no grace period or undo.

PMOSly also offers a separate "Delete all data" option (Settings → Delete all data) that wipes your local on-device health logs — including any fertility/TTC data — without deleting your account. Use this if you only want to clear your device data while keeping the account.

2. Request deletion by email (fallback)

Because your health data is end-to-end encrypted and account deletion must be authenticated, in-app deletion is the only way to verify your identity automatically. If you cannot access the app, you may send a written request:

  1. Send an email to hello@pmosly.com.
  2. Use the subject line: "PMOSly account deletion request".
  3. Include the email address associated with your PMOSly account.
  4. We will contact you to verify your identity before processing the request.

Identity verification may be required to protect you against unauthorised deletion of your account.

What is deleted and what is kept

Deleted immediately and permanently
  • Your account record (email address, authentication credentials).
  • All encrypted backup data stored on our servers (encrypted cycle, symptom, lab, medication, mood and fertility records, encrypted sync keys).
  • Your server-side encryption key material.
  • Any device-local encryption key used to protect the backup (cleared on the device that initiated deletion).
What remains after deletion
  • Nothing personally identifiable. Once the account and all encrypted records are deleted, we cannot associate any remaining data with you.
  • Anonymous, unlinkable crash reports and product-analytics events (only if you opted in) are not tied to your identity and cannot be traced back to your account. These are governed by our Privacy Policy.

Data retention after deletion

PMOSly does not apply any retention period to account or backup data after deletion — removal is immediate. Any minimal operational or legal retention obligations (for example, billing records required by tax law) are described in the Privacy Policy.
